Starting school and working for the past 3 weeks - which looking back, is such a short time but feels super long to me! - has been very strange. I think it's not so much of going back to studying after 8 months, but getting drawn back into the busy lifestyle. Suddenly different pressures come in to keep things as they were before school started, like spending time with the family, friends... And making new friends, and balancing that too.
In school yesterday, my lecturer made us do a values test and one of the questions he asked us was: If everyone turned to God, would there still be a need for counsellors?
Kinda got me thinking. Our walk with God is a very private and personal one between us and God only. Yet there's also this need in us that can only be fulfilled by people. Just like the cross with the horizontal and the vertical beam.
During this period of time, when everyone has their own separate roads to travel, it's very easy to drift away and get cut off. And even though i'm trying to find God at a deeper level and find myself spending more time alone to quiet down and seek Him, there's a fear that when i look around, i'll find myself walking alone. Yet i know that if i seek God first, all these things will be added to me.
Have we lost our vision? Maybe that's the reason we don't have anything to unite for.
