Sabbath

Gonna sign up for a 2 year membership at a gym! :] It's this nice private gym for ladies with personal trainers and nutritionists who track your physical progress and help you to make changes to your exercise plan so that you can improve. Anyway, got this refreshing revelation about taking care of my body from this book:

Representatives from major world religions were gathered together in a conference where they introduced their religions and discussed the possible lessons we could learn from their beliefs. I really like this quote from the Jewish representative:

"Sabbath is about encountering holiness in order to gain wisdom and courage we need to carry out our responsibilities. Sabbath helps us live out our faith, in other words, within a material world and within a human culture.

The implication of our this-worldly faith is that any renunciation of family responsibilities, the neglect of one's body, or even thte forsaking of one's financial resources cannot be a legitimate expression of piety."

Haha.. so true to this revelation, I had a good and fruitful sabbath! :] Indeed, it's the only way to walk through life being a stable person. Just like marathoners who take breaks to walk, drink water or eat power gel, it's a very good command to take a break once a week so that we can walk this life journey well!
