It's very easy to miss the blessings of God in our lives. Today, I was just watching Rev. Joshua Hong preach to us in SOT and I felt so blessed in my heart that such a man of God is here to impart to us his knowledge and anointing. People pay him tens of thousands to share most of what he's teaching us, but he's here offering to send us copies of his notes and giving us photocopies of his journals just like that. His teachings may be conveyed very simply, but the truth and revelation behind it is astounding because it has the power to radically change lives and turn countries upside down - like South Korea - if we apply it. In fact, behind his simple and unassuming appearance, is a person who pursues God passionately and single-mindedly, one whose mind is sharp and full of wisdom and understanding. When he prays, the presence of God is there straightaway and it feels like he enters the secret place immediately, when it takes us 15 minutes to get warmed up and to concentrate!
Indeed, God looks at the heart whereas Man looks at the outward appearance. I realise I'm guilty of often not honouring people who are worth honouring like the leaders placed over us due to a great ignorance of what it takes to be where they are, doing what they're doing. It's true that we often view the world from the limited frame of thought that is our own personal experiences. Hence most times we cannot fathom what or why our leaders do what they do. Like how sometimes we feel justified in our anger toward God. But when we get our perspective right, and understand who God really is - like when I watched the video about how big earth is compared to the biggest star in the universe - we are so humbled by the limitation of our hearts and minds to understand and receive truth.
I want to make a decision that I will be a person who will not despise or judge people no matter who they are, what they are going through, where they come from, what social status or race they are. Life is hard and everyone is trying their best to live it. Everyone is someone's mom, dad, sister or beloved brother. Most importantly, everyone has this spirit inside that does not have gender, race or social status. Moral issues are not to be compromised, but love is the one thing that supercedes everything.
When Rev. Joshua Hong spoke about having tears in our hearts when we pray, he said something that really touched me deeply because when he said it, i felt my spirit agree with it because it was the truth - God tears when He beholds us. Imagine yourself beholding an awesome scene that touches your soul deeply - maybe it's the breathless view of a glorious landscape, or a parent showing unconditional love and acceptance to his child, or your mother or dad coming home late at night, fatigued from a day's work for the family - your heart is moved with love and compassion at that moment. Now imagine how it is for God whose love for us far exceeds anybody's imagination and any measurement known to man. To behold the very thing He loves so deeply that He has given everything to protect and save, to have us come before Him, lingering in His presence and loving Him as well. I would cry tears of joy and love too :]
