Today, was walking from school to redhill mrt. It was around 7 plus already, and it was quite dark. But beside the canal, there were 3 bangladeshi workers, 2 of them holding a small wooden ladder for this one man who was replacing a lightbulb for the streetlight that about 3-4m high. And at the road behind them, was this huge truck with the crane and a small box for them to cut branches off trees at the roadside. And i was wondering, wow, the 3 of them drove all the way in that huge truck, just to change one lightbulb that had gone out beside this canal. And it was drizzling, so it was quite a touching sight for me. Seeing people go about their jobs, no matter how small and seemingly insignificant their job is. They are still faithful in doing it anyway.

Then saw these 2 chinese workers, sitting at the steps of pasir ris mrt at 11pm. They were just sitting there, eating and drinking from those plastic bottles of herbal tea. Just the look of them, like their clothes, their skin that's so weather-beaten by probably the wind from where they came from. And ppl rushing out from the mrt station, this woman stopping in her tracks as though affronted by them. And the way everyone just rushed past them.

It just got me thinking, actually there's so much good in this world. We tend to always just focus on HUGE, MAJOR issues that are super bad: oppression, Iraq, political unrest everywhere, terrorism etc. But people are still doing little acts of goodness. Even the trees and grass around us. I remember what Sarah shared during cellgroup, about the miracle of the plumule and radical growing from the seed. And i totally understand that amazement because that's the beauty of Biology! I remember looking at a leaf under the microscope and i saw the cells MOVING. And i remember being so super amazed and i couldn't believe my eyes because what i saw in the textbook, was actually living and moving in front of my eyes.

We shouldn't take for granted the little things. Like a seed, it's so small and we always take it for granted that green beans will always sprout tau gay. But the wonder is where is this LIFE coming from? It looks like a dead seed, but there is life coming from it even as yes, the plumule and radical push out of the earth! And the amazing thing is that scientists will never be able to replicate life and make a pile of carbohydrates, proteins, etc. pulsate and move with life. Intelligent life with a soul and a spirit! Isn't that amazing?
